Wrestling with complex issues like never before. Our cities and our city government are wrestling with complex issues like never before, and they are having to consider tough decisions for both the short and the long term. Creating a sustainable path forward will require that city governments do much more than simply gathering input. They will need to stretch in new ways.
Challenges such as homelessness, health, and climate action have not been the traditional purview of city government. While there is much that cities can do, meaningful and lasting progress will only be made when leadership is shared and engagement is coordinated among city and county government, non-profit service providers and other civic organizations, businesses, and non-affiliated community members. |
